Netflix has secured the streaming rights to Depeche Mode: M, the feature-length concert documentary that captures the legendary electronic band during their emotional Memento Mori world tour. Following a limited theatrical run in late October and a physical release at the beginning of December, the film is set to debut on Netflix in the US on January 9th, 2026.

Directed by award-winning Mexican filmmaker Fernando Frías (I’m No Longer Here), Depeche Mode: M is far more than a standard concert movie. The film documents the band’s three sold-out nights at the Foro Sol in Mexico City in 2023, where they played to over 200,000 fans.

The official synopsis of the film continues, “DEPECHE MODE: M celebrates the band’s global influence while delving into the profound connection between music, mortality, and Mexican tradition — a sacred meeting point where pain, memory, joy, and dance dissolve into one another, blurring into something profoundly and beautifully human.”

18 songs are played throughout, including some of their biggest hits like Personal Jesus and Enjoy the Silence, with the documentary serving as a poignant tribute to late founding member Andy Fletcher, whose 2022 passing heavily influenced the Memento Mori album.

Frontman Dave Gahan praised the director’s vision, stating: “At its core, our new film ‘M’ is about the deep connection between music, culture, and people—and Fernando Frías… did a beautiful job telling that story through the lens of Mexican culture and our shows in Mexico City.”

As mentioned, Depeche Mode: M will be available to stream on Netflix US starting Friday, January 9th. Trafalgar Releasing is behind the initial release alongside Anonymous Entertainment and Sony Music Vision. This is the second major music SVOD debut pickup for Netflix, following Rebecca, a documentary focused on Becky G, set to arrive on New Year’s Eve.

It joins a busy January lineup on the streamer, landing alongside other major releases like the rom-com adaptation People We Meet on Vacation and The Rip. The streamer has also set the SVOD debuts of three other films throughout the month, specifically in the US, including Stone Cold Fox, The Threesome, and Bone Lake.
